Ich war gestern auf einer Veranstaltung von IDEO, bei der es um 'Amateurism' ging. Gemeint ist hiermit, wie Leute 'Hobbies' mit Hingabe verfolgen. Einer der Sprecher war Paul Miller, der 2004 zusammen mit Charlie Leadbeater ein Pamphlet/Buch mit dem Titel The Pro-Am Revolution – How enthusiasts are changing our economy and society geschrieben hat, welches man sich auch umsonst runterladen kann.

From astronomy to activism, from surfing to saving lives, Pro-Ams – people pursuing amateur activities to professional standards – are an increasingly important part of our society and economy.
